Some Updates, A New Design, and Some Random Photos (To Appease My Angry Mob).

*hides ashamedly*

I need to get my game together.

I am so, so, sorry for keeping you guys hanging. I’m adjusting my blogging schedule to Monday and Friday, so I don’t have dance on my posting days. And hopefully I’ll be able to write posts that keep you guys interested.

Now on that note, you may have noticed that I updated my blog design. I felt like it needed a revamp, that I wanted it to look more professional. I changed the theme, redid my pages, and Charis @ Charis Rae designed me a new header and signoff! Thank you so much, Charis! I hope the new design is more professional looking to you all, and easier to navigate.

I got glasses! They’re just for reading, to try and fix my frequent headaches. Everyone says they make me look studious, and I seriously say, “They are just glasses! What about glasses makes people think you look smart?” And I get weird looks. XD I like wearing them, though. They’re a reddish-purple color.

I started dancing three day a week. I really love dancing three days a week, especially since one of the classes is the class above ours age group. It’s a mandatory class for them, but optional for us, so it’s hard, which I love. It’s also taught by one of my favorite teachers (even if I do have a love-hate relationship with him.)

I got a Goodreads. I’ve actually had an account for a while, but I can’t remember if I announced it in a post, so if you have an account and would like to friend me, go right ahead!

I started high school. I’m still homeschooled, of course, but I entered the ninth grade! I’m excited to be a Freshman.

I turned fourteen! My birthday was the twenty-first. My dad wants to buy a broken down old car and fix it for me to use as my car once I’m able to drive, so he plans on getting one this year so we have a year and a half to work on it. I’m so excited!

We got another goat.  He’s a buck, and his name is Cash, after Johnny Cash. (We did not name him that, I promise. He came with it. XD)

I’ve taken some random photos here and there that don’t make up a whole post, so here’s a few of my favorites.

I took this picture of my little sister, Camie, while we were watching the eclipse. Isn’t she so cute?

We went down to the creek by our house last week, to celebrate the end of summer, and I got this cool picture of ripples in the water.

The next three pictures I got when I climbed a deer trail on the bank of the creek up into our neighbors cornfield. The deer have an entire corner of the field trampled down.

And my mom technically took this picture, but it was too cool not to share! At our friends Fourth of July celebration, my friend Owen decided to draw his name with sparklers and have my mom photograph it. He’s not fast enough at drawing his name backwards to actually make it look like this, so I reversed it so you could read it. 😉 I love how you can see his blurred form in the background from where he drew it.

Let’s chat!

Let me know what you think of my new schedule, my blog design, and my pictures! I’m always looking for critique (as long as it’s polite!)

#WIPJOY, The Liebster Award, The KOTLC Blogging Tag, and The Realisation That I Am, In Fact, Alive.

I’M ALIVE!!!!!!!!!

I’m super duper sorry for leaving you poor peeps in the lurch. I’ve been so crazy busy, not to mention Camp NaNo has had me in its clutches. I have VBS at my church next week, but hopefully I can get back to posting regularly. I missed you guys!!

But, I decided to catch up on my tags (since they’re fun, and also to give me time to finish organising my vaycay pics, which I took like two million of. #sorrynotsorry. Fort Sumter was so awesome, you guys! How could I not take a jillion pictures?) So, I’ll be doing the Keeper of the Lost Cities Blogging Tag, The Liebster Award, and #WIPJOY for y’all tonight. The lovely Eden also nominated me for Rip It or Ship It, but that will be a whole post of its own. So many characters and so little time.  So here we go!

Mya nominated me for her Keeper of the Lost Cities Blogging Tag. Squee!! Thanks, Mya!!

Le Rules:

  • Thank the blog who nominated you.
  • List the rules.
  • Answer the ten questions about KOTLC that are listed.
  • Nominate 5 people who are KOTLC fans.

Le Questions:

Who is your favorite KOTLC character? If it is Sophie, who is your second favorite?

What are your KOTLC ships?

TEAM FOSTER-KEEEFFFFEEEE!!!!!! Since Keefe can’t *technically* be my boyfriend, I ship him with Sophie! Ignoring technicalities he is MINE!

I also ship Biana and Tam, just a smidge. Even Tam reminds me of Nico di Angelo, with the Death Boy vibe, and Biana’s so sweet and innocent, I think they’d be cute.

Which book is your favorite?

Gah, I don’t know. Probably Neverseen or Lodestar.

Which book is your least favorite?

Probably the first. The rest have more action, which I love, and more Keefe, which I love more, so win-win.

Do you like Keefe or Tam better?

I think I’ve made this clear. ‘Nuff said.

Do you like Biana or Linh better?

I really don’t know. At first I would have said Linh, since Biana is like a total girly-girl, but then Biana went and fell in love with Iggy and I was like, “I think I underestimated her. Whoever can deal with Iggy is heroic.” So, I’m still indecisive. Guess I’ll have to wait until Nightfall to find out!

Who do you think Sophie’s biological parents are?

You know, I actually don’t have any theories on this. I was sort of considering Kenric, but then Mr. Forkle (RIP) said it wasn’t him, so I left off theorizing.

How many stars would you rate the series (out of five stars)?

Are you excited for Nightfall?

Have you preordered Nightfall yet?

Well, I preordered it for Charis, and I borrow the books from her, so yes?

Hehe, the only people I know of who have read these got nominated by Mya… OH OH OH!! Anika, you didn’t! So I nomiate Anika, and anyone else who likes Keeper that I may not know about. Enjoy!

Rebecca from Joy Unspeakable nominated me for the Liebster Award. Thanks, Rebecca!

  4. Nominate 5-11 bloggers whom you feel deserved this award and have less than 200 followers.
  5. List these rules.
  6. Inform nominees.

Le Random Facts:

  1. I’m 5′ 7″, more or less.
  2. I’m gluten- and dairy-free.
  3. I’m the oldest of seven.
  4. I have a psychotic three-legged hairless dog.
  5. I’m an ENFP.
  6. I love Star Wars.

  8. I’ve danced for seven years.
  9. One of my best friends is a guy.
  10. I’ve *cough* never actually finished a book. Not even to a first draft level.

I nominate…

Have fun!!!

If you haven’t noticed, I love talking about my writing. So what better way to do it than a WIP tag? I’ll be talking about When The Phoenix Calls, my NaNo novel.

Like Charis and Eden, I won’t be doing all of the questions, because dang, that’s a lot of questions for a sleep-deprived girl at eleven PM- when I was writing this. (I was watching Rogue One, I had an excuse, okay?)

Describe your WIP.

Skye Foster has always been a little out of the ordinary. She has the Sight, a blessing and a curse. With the ability to see fantasy creatures, she has noticed that more restless and destructive creatures are appearing on Earth. When she meets an elf by the name of Finnigan Skylark, he tells her the irreplaceable Twilight Crystal, which protects the borders between the land of Eeranthoi and Earth, has been stolen by an unknown criminal. When Finn takes Skye to Eeranthoi, her courage is put to the test as she is forced to flee the kingdom, under false accusations of being the thief. Can Skye and Finn restore peace between Eeranthoi and Earth, or will life as they know it be changed forever?

*cringe* I need a better synopsis.

Describe your MC’s aesthetic in 7 phrases.

images (1).jpg

• kind • loyal • fierce to her enemies • skilled with a dagger • musical • blue-eyed • dreamer •

I’m bad at aesthetics…

WOULD YOU RATHER: Be trapped in your story for a week, or have your antagonist enter your own life for a day?

Oh dear… I’d love to be in my story, but I may be killed in the course of that week, considering Skye and Finn are outcasts at the moment. And if my antagonist, Calvin, came to my home for a day, every girl in town would be following him around. I made him very handsome for a reason, and he’d probably get violent if he had fifty girls tailing him. Both?

Dish about a favorite side character!

FINN. FINN IS MY BABY AND HE’S AMAZING. He’s such a caring and supportive friend to Skye, not to mention gorgeous. AND HIS BEST FRIEND IS THE ANTAGONIST BUT HE DOESN’T KNOW IT. It’s beauty. *cackles evily*

WOULD YOU RATHER: Never publish this WIP, or watch it be adapted into a horrible movie?

Well, the movie wouldn’t be horrible if me or my any of my friends were directing, but that’s besides the point.  I’d really love to publish this WIP, since it’s the story I’ve felt most connected with out of any I’ve written. I’d suffer through the terrible movie and hope more people read the book.

Choose an ideal reading spot, food, drink, and music to go with your WIP.

When The Phoenix Calls is set mostly in Eeranthoi, a very wooded kingdom, so somewhere in the forest, very secluded, would be good for reading. A good drink would probably be tea or hot chocolate, depending on the time of year. I’m not really sure for food, probably chocolate because chocolate is good with everything. I’ve listened to a lot of tobyMac and Britt Nicole while writing this, but that doesn’t seem like a very good type of music to go with this. Maybe classical?

And, because I’m nice, a few snippets for you little lovelies.

I woke up to a pounding sound on my door. “Skye!” I sat up groggily. “What?” I yelled, rubbing my eyes. The door burst open, and Finn bounded in. “Come on, we’ve got to go!” “Where are we going?” I asked, jumping out of bed and throwing my hair in a quick ponytail. “No time! We’ve got to go!” I slipped on my shoes and followed Finn out the door and down the hallway. Finn broke into a run and called, “Follow me!” I had learned to obey first and ask questions later, so I started running after him. He led me down the halls and stairways that Cal had taken us down yesterday, then we passed by the throne room and to a set of towering double doors. Finn pushed them open and we ran out onto a long green lawn in front of the castle. Finn whistled as we ran, and Ara the Pegasus swept down and started cantering beside us. Need a lift?  “Yes please,” Finn panted, and he grabbed her mane and swung himself on. “Come on, Skye!” He held out his hand. Hoping that he wouldn’t let me fall, I grabbed his hand. He pulled with amazing strength, and I found myself on Ara’s back again. She thrust with her wings and shot us up into the sky.

“So what’s the problem?” I asked Finn. “There wasn’t one,” He said, leaning back across Ara’s back. “I just wanted to see how you reacted to the whole ’emergency’ act.” he made air quotes around emergency. “Seriously? You woke me up for no reason?” “Yep,” Finn said. I glared at him, then poked his stomach. “Hey!” he sat up. I laughed. Looking around, I realized how early it was in the morning. The edge of the horizon was glowing with red, orange, and gold, and the sun was an neon pinprick over the sea. “So, since you woke me up so early, what are we going to do?” “I was thinking I could kind of show you around, let you see what you didn’t on the way to the castle,” Finn said, looking off towards the neon pinprick of a sun. “Maia and Rae will be up already, and Alyssa better be, so we can go see them, too.” “Who are they?” I asked. He gave me a mischievous grin. “Oh, you’ll see.”

He picked up a sword and said, “I don’t think this is your style.” “No,” I agreed. “Too manly.” He smirked and held out a bow. “Try this. Pull back the string.” I took the bow and almost dislocated my arm trying to pull back the string. “Definitely no,”  Finn laughed and hung up the bow. Our fingers brushed together as he took it from me, and his smile faltered. I could feel my cheeks growing red, and I tried to cover it by saying, “What about this?” I picked up a sheathed knife off of a stand. I pulled off the sheath and pointed the knife at Finn. “Any last words?” I said threateningly. Finn laughed and said, “Maybe. Let’s try this one instead.” He picked up two sheathed daggers and held them out. I sheathed the previous one and unsheathed one of the offered ones. The silver blades were curved, more like a hunting knife then a dagger, and they were covered with etched swirls on the flat. It felt perfectly balanced in my hand, and I mimed stabbing something. “I like it,” I said. “Well, there’s two of them. Can you fight with double daggers?” “Let’s find out,” I said, and handed him the first one I’d tried. “Dagger on dagger?” I said. “I like the way you think,” Finn said, and handed me the other knife. I set the sheathes aside and put one in each hand. “Here, let me help,”  Finn said, and turned the blades so the sharp edge was facing out. “Begin.” Finn held out his blade.  I tried to remember everything I’d ever seen in movies, and I lunged and slashed towards his arm. He raised the knife in defense, and I knocked it out if his grip with my other blade. Finn raised his hands and said, “I think you’ve got this figured out. It’ll be much harder against a sword, but you’re smaller and quicker then most people who use swords, so you should be able to defend yourself just fine.” He bent down to pick up the knife and paused. “You won’t attack me, will you?” “Perish the thought!” “I wish you hadn’t used perish,” he mumbled. I laughed. “Would you help me fasten these to my belt?” “Sure.” He took the knifes from my hands and kneeling, fastened the sheathes to my belt loops, one on either side. “There you go, I think you’re ready for battle.” Finn stood. We were nose-to-nose. He held my gaze for a moment too long, then I turned away, blushing fiercely. Finn cleared his throat and said, “Well, we’d better head towards the ocean, if we want to get there in time to spend a while there. I’ll call Ara when we get outside, okay?” I nodded silently. Finn looked like he wanted to say something more, but apparently thought better of it and turned away. I slid my new knifes into their sheathes and followed him out of the armory.

I used ‘sheathed’ way too much in this paragraph, but I haven’t done any editing, so I’ll be changing it up a bit.

We reappeared at the summit of the mountain, and my jaw dropped. “Wow.” The view was incredible, with a three-sixty panorama of the entire land, bathed in a stunning crimson sunset. I turned a full circle, taking it all in. Finn smirked. “You like it?” “It’s… amazing. Do many people come up here?” “Not as many you’d think. Truthfully, I think they get overwhelmed with it. I love it, but I’m different then all the others.” “Why’s that?” I said, throwing myself on the ground. “My sense of proportion, I guess. I’ve seen more then most elves see in their lifetime. That kind of sets me apart. Like this view, to me, is just a view. It’s an amazing view, nonetheless, but it’s just a view. To everyone else, it’s huge. They can’t comprehend it. They’re so used to their normal, down-to-earth lives that anything out of the ordinary is hard to understand for them. Even my own parents.” He sighed and sat beside me. “Sorry, I’m rambling.” “Oh, no, I like your rambling. It makes sense. They haven’t experienced what you have, so they don’t understand the beauty in it. That’s their loss, not yours.” Finn looked surprised, then grateful. “Do you understand everything?” I shrugged. “Maybe….” Finn laughed and playfully pushed my arm. Then he sobered. “Listen, Skye, there’s, um, something I’ve been wanting to tell you.” He ran his hand through his hair. “I-” He was cut off by a flash of light by our side. Cal and Willow appeared, much in the same way we had done. Cal brushed off his clothes and said, “Hey guys! You ready?” “Am I ever!” I jumped up, pulling Finn with me. I didn’t want to think about what Finn had been about to say to me. I was almost certain I knew what it would be, and the thought made me shiver.

*sigh* I love Finn so much. He’s my baby. It’s so obvious he likes Skye, right? Because that’s the one thing she’s clueless about. (Willow is Calvin’s sister, FYI.)

And there you are!!

Thanks so much for dealing with my disappearance, guys!!! I’ll try to post regularly after this, but I’ll apologize in advance for any skipped post days I may not inform you of. I should be back with Rip It or Ship It soon, so watch out for that!

Which tag did you like the best?

What do you think of When The Phoenix Calls?

And the most important question… Who is better, Keefe or Fitz? (The answer is Keefe.)

\\\Charis Rae Launch Tour///

Hey guys! I’m SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO sorry for not posting! June has been ridiculously busy for me, and in my spare seconds I procrastinated and surfed Goodreads (which I now have! Yay for me!) And I’m about to go on vacation, but I promise I’ll take a billion, jillion pictures and overload you to make up for my Bad Blogger phase.

But! Grace, at The Girl Upstairs, has made a new personal blog, Charis Rae, and is using her real name! (And I can finally call her Charisma on here…. I’ve been wanting to do that for forever.) I joined up for her blog tour, and I’m here with some info on the blog!! Let’s go!! (her name is pronounced CAIR-iss, rhymes with Paris, by the way. It’s Greek for Grace, hence her previous alias. 😉 )

A (Sort Of) Interview

(She just gave me some info, and I copied and pasted because I’m feeling lazy. XD)

About Charis:

Among many things, I am a dreamer, dancer, writer & photographer, blogger, bibliophile, and daughter of the King. I enjoy blogging and am excited to move my blog to the next level.

About Charis Rae:

Charis Rae is a self-hosted, more professional version of my former blog, The Girl Upstairs. After blogging for quite a while, I decided to switch to a more professional platform and share more about me, my life, and my name. 😉 On Charis Rae, I’m going to be sharing my interests, abilities, and journey through life and blogging, with all of you along for the ride.

Charis’s Blogging Journey:

My journey in the vast universe of the World Wide Web began at about age 9. My dad set up a private, Blogger-hosted blog read only by my friends and close family. I loved blogging, and although I wasn’t consistent, I enjoyed creating content.

Now, several years later, I am creating my own self-hosted, professional blogging platform.

Hopes for Charis Rae:

I hope that Charis Rae will become just as successful as The Girl Upstairs, but will reach more people, and eventually grow into something beyond my wildest dreams. I’m also excited to “learn the ropes” of self-hosting, coding, and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store!

And here’s a link to the gorgeous awesome-ness that is Charis Rae!! Go check it out and hit that ‘follow’ button to support Charisma! She’s a great blogger, and my bestie, and the best, most supportive friend ever! Lots of love, Charis, and good luck on your new, lovely blo! (UPDATE: Forgot to add the link… *facepalm* Here ya go!!

I will overwhelm you with beach pictures… Also possibly a few selfies with my awesome relatives…. XD

A New Blog: The Young And Dreaming

Hi everyone! So…. I kind of forgot to post Wednesday. *cringes* I was tired, and it just slipped my mind. So, sorry for that.

I am part of a new collab blog called The Young and Dreaming. The link is here, so go check it out! The contributors are Suzy, Ashlynn, Josie, and I. There’s also the creator, but she wishes to go unnamed right now, so great job designing the blog and getting us together, anonymous person! XD My Easter reflection post is coming out tomorrow, and I’d love if you’d go read it!

Also, I kind of left a few things out of my giveaway post. Oops. So I’m going to update them right now, and add a few more details. Sorry for any inconvenience!

Bella (The Daydreaming Damsel).jpg

Blogiversary Giveaway!

Hey everyone! You can stop waiting in suspense, because I’m here to announce my giveaway! Which you still don’t know… Oops, the featured image kind of gives it away… Dang it! Need to work on that…

So, yeah. I’m giving away a free book of the winners choice! Of course, there is some criteria…

  • The book must be clean… No profanity, unless you’ve read the book and any cursing doesn’t bother you.
  • It cannot be above a Young Adult rating, unless it is a classic. Anything above tends to be borderline inappropriate. UPDATE: If the book is in a Christian genre, such as Christian Romance, or you have read and know the book, it can be above Young Adult.
  • It can be any price, but nothing extreme, like fifty dollars or something.
  • You don’t have to be a follower to enter.
  • If eighteen or younger, you must have a parents permission.

To get entries, you can…

  1. Leave a comment saying you’d like to enter, and saying what book you would pick if you won. Also state that you have a parents permission.
  2. Reblog this post on your personal blog, and link back to this post.
  3. Post to social media, i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Google+, etc. (Which I have zero idea of how to do because I don’t have social media, so good luck.)
  4. Tell a friend about this giveaway.

Each of these will give you one extra entry. (Each social media platform will give you one, also, so if you post to Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest, you’ll get three entries.) And make sure you fill in the comment form correctly, because that’s the email I will use to contact you. If you already have a WordPress account, just send me an email through the contact form labeled ‘Giveaway’, so I have your email. 🙂

Sorry, this giveaway is only to open to residents of the USA.

UPDATE: Giveaway ends April 30th. Winner will be announced on May 1st.

Good luck, everyone!!

Just consider yourself a blogging friend.

In celebration of my blogiversary, I will be hosting a giveaway… BUT I WON’T TELL YOU WHAT I’M GIVING AWAY!!!!! MWAHAHAHA!!!!!

Just kidding. I’ll be doing the official post on Monday, so you’ll find out then. I won’t leave you completely in the dark. Only Grace is that cruel… 😉

Once again, I’d like to say a huge thank you to all of my faithful followers, who must be incredibly capable to deal with my crazy schedule. I can’t wait to see what the next year of blogging holds for me!!

Some Sad News and Some Exciting News

Hi everybody! Sorry I didn’t post yesterday, I was tired out and uninspired, so I decided to post today instead. But, I have some sad news for you all today. If you’re an old follower, you’ll remember my post about Beau and Sara. If you’re new here, I suggest you go read it here, and the update here, to get caught up.

So, in my update, Beau was improving. We thought he’d be standing soon, and he’d get better.  Well…

He’s gone. Everything went downhill from there, and soon he wasn’t eating or drinking. Sara was pretty much resigned to the fact that he would most likely have to be putn, so the decision wasn’t too hard to make. That was probably three weeks ago, and I haven’t heard from Sara since. Her mom says she has been isolating herself, and is feeling pretty bad. So any prayers for Sara would be appreciated. It’s just so sad that Sara had to loose such a good friend, and I feel so bad for her.

That was slightly depressing and sad, so now I have some better news.

One hundred.

Thanks you all so, so much!!!! I seriously can’t believe it!! I’ve gained so many followers just recently, from eighty in February to one hundred in March!! Since my one year blogoversery is so close, I’ll do an official celebration then, with probably a giveaway or something, but I have to say THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Some News and BIBPC Categories Three Through Five

Hi everyone!! Megan very generously let me enter my pictures a little late, so here they are! The third category was ‘New’.

That was when we had a teensy bit of snow, before it turned seventy degrees outside. XD

The fourth was ‘Night’.

It’s not the best picture, but it was a star over our house.

And the fifth is ‘Adventure’.

I got this little munchkin a week ago Tuesday, and he’s already proven himself as an adventure!!

Now for the news.

I’ve been so, so busy the past week or so. My boss is on vacation in St. Lucia, so I’m running the horse barn by myself. Plus I have a goat to take care of, and dance, and other family stuff. So I’ve decided to take a brief hiatus until my schedule levels out a touch. I’ll probably resume normal posting times around March 1st or so, after my boss gets back. I’ll submit my BIBPC photos through email, and I’ll post them here for you all to see when I get back. I’ll probably still check my updates and relpy to comments in my few spare minutes, but posts will be on hold. I’m sorry to stop when I just made a schedule, but I’ve had such a hard time trying to come up with post ideas and take photos in beween all my other stuff that I feel like it’ll be easier just to take a little break. So I will talk to you all later!! Bye!

This will be a good time to suggest post ideas! 😉

A Few Tags

Hey guys!! I had planned to do a giant conflagration of tags once I figured out who tagged me for what, but Madi over at Delightful World of Dolls tagged me for three tags in her giant tag post, so I figured I’d go ahead and do them! Thanks, Madi!

Madi’s Questions:

How often do you eat dessert?

Not entirely often. I’ll make something on occasionally on Sundays, but we try not to do too much sugar.

How often do you eat out?

Again, not often. Maybe once or twice a month?

What is your favorite place to eat out at?

Oh, I don’t know. We don’t eat out often, but Denny’s or awesome, and when I went to NC to visit my aunt and uncle we went to the really good Indian place called Mint, and oh my goodness, that place was good.

Do you cook? If so, what’s your favorite dish you’ve made?

I cook a lot, and bake a lot. I’ve made a lot of stuff, but I was very proud of the gluten-free, dairy-free pumpkin roll I made for Thanksgiving 2016.

Favorite pasta?

I like all pasta!!

Favorite drink?

I’ve had some really good drinks before, but a few favorites are a peach smoothie I got in NC, and the Mango Colada juice drink from BoltHouse Farms. Those are good.

Favorite flavor of gum?

Cinnamon or spearmint.

Do you buy snacks for yourself?

Not really, no. I have before, but not regularly.

When was the last time you had cake?

My sister’s birthday on February eighth!

Have you ever dreamed about food?

Yes, strangely enough. It was kind of a flashback to when I invited friends over for a tea party when I was about seven and cooked all the food for it. XD

My Questions:

What’s your favorite food of all time?

What’s your favorite type of fruit?

Do you like chocolate? (hint: The answer is YES.)

Do you like seafood?

Do you have any type of food allergies?

Favorite flavor in general?

Favorite flavor of jelly?

Do you eat meat?

Most nostalgic food?

What’s a comfort food?

I’m mainly focusing on my NaNoWriMo novel, When The Phoenix Calls. But I also have a novel series, The Swiftwing Chronicles, in the works, too.

Favorite thing you’ve ever written?

Oh boy, I don’t know. I love some of my lines in When The Phoenix Calls, but I don’t know if I really have favorite thing.

Have you ever written a novel?

Yes! I’m writing two, but I haven’t finished them.

Have you ever published a book? If not, do you want to?

I haven’t, but I want to publish my NaNoWriMo novel once it’s finished and majorly edited.

What is your favorite time of day to write?

I don’t really have a favorite, but I do most of my writing in the afternoon.

Do you have a writing schedule?

No. I need to develop one so I can write more often.

What is your favorite character that you’ve ever created?

Man, that’s hard. *takes deep breath* I really love Finn and Skye, from When The Phoenix Calls, but my first majorly developed character was Emmalee Westbrook, from The Swiftwing Chronicles, so I’ll always have a special affection for her.

Have you ever wrote something with someone else?

No, I don’t believe so. I want to, so I’ll have to find someone to do it with.

Favorite writing accomplishment of 2016?

Doing NaNoWriMo for the first time!

Do you have any writing goals for 2017?

I want to develop a writing schedule, complete my NaNo novel, and work more on The Swiftwing Chronicles.

Writing-wise, where do you see yourself by the of this year?

I want to have improved some of the things I struggle with in writing. I think that will really help improve my writing and make it able to be published.

Who is your biggest writing inspiration?

Grace is a big inspiration of mine, but all of my friends help inspire me to write and be the best I am.

What keeps you motivated to write?

Being outdoors helps motivate me, and spending time with my friends and talking about writing always makes my mind crank out ideas.

And here’s my favorite word!

Mellifluous: sweet or musical; pleasant to hear

My Questions:

Madi’s Questions:

What was the favorite vacation you’ve ever had?

I have two, St. Louis during last summer and Chincoteague Island a few summers ago.

Favorite quote?

“Only as high as I reach can I grow
Only as far as I seek can I go
Only as deep as I look can I see
Only as much as I dream can I be.” ~Anonymous

What keeps you going on a down day?

When I’m feeling grumpy or down, I like to read a happy, feel-good book. If that doesn’t work, I go on my tablet and read some funny texts from my friend. He’s a total nut and always has a way to cheer me up.

Do you tend to look on the bright side or the dark side of things?

Normally the bright side, but I occasionally look on the dark side. Then I give myself a good scolding for it. XD

How often do you laugh?

Very often. If you know me, I laugh probably laugh excessively. 🙂

Do you like smiling?

Yes! I smile more then any other expression.

Do you like frowning?

Not particularly.

Do you like making weird faces?

Wellll…. I do it a lot. I can’t say I like it, but I do, if that makes any sense.

Do you have a/any best friend(s)?

Yes! I don’t know who doesn’t have a best friend! You’d have to be a pretty lonely person not to have a best friend. But my besties are Grace, Owen, Harper, and Ashlynn.

What was the favorite adventure you’ve ever had?

I’ve been on lots of adventures, but my favorites are probably going to Cedar Point, and the one I’m about to have… Hand raising a baby goat.

Are you tired of my random questions? Don’t worry, I’m all done now.

I could never get tired of your questions, Madi!

New Blog Schedule

Hello, everyone!! I’m here today to say that I will be integrating a blog schedule into The Daydreaming Damsel. On Mondays, I will post about….

The Arts! Sorry, bad quality picture. My computer’s seizing up. 😦

SO, The Arts basically means dance, music, art (duh) and photography.

On Wednesdays I will post about…

Lifestyle. Meaning crafty stuff, life on the farm, and such.

And on Fridays I will post about…

News and Tags. Kind of self-explanatory, but I’ll also do miscellaneous stuff, things that don’t fit into the other categories. Kind of like a catch-all day.

So, there you go! I might miss Friday this week, because I have a job at the horse barn I ride at, and I might have to stay longer that day. But, if I don’t I have a special post in mind….

How do you like my new blog schedule?

Let me know in the comments below, and don’t forget to follow!

Kind of a blah post, but I’ve got stuff on my mind today… Coming up in another post.
